Algodonera Avellaneda

Algodonera Avellaneda spinning mill with Marzoli technology

Total control of the value chain for consistent quality

Algodonera Avellaneda is Argentina’s leading producer of textile products and stands as a benchmark for complete vertical integration. The company controls the entire production chain - from cotton harvesting to ginning, from spinning to weaving—ensuring consistent quality, traceability, and operational continuity at high volumes.
To support this highly integrated structure and efficiently manage one of the most critical stages of the process, we partner with Algodonera Avellaneda as a technology provider, delivering reliable, high-performance solutions for the entire spinning area.

The challenge

As the leading cotton ginning company for locally sourced cotton, Algodonera Avellaneda produces over 2,000 tons of raw material per day, part of which is processed internally - together with man-made fibers - into 100% cotton, 100% viscose, and cotton/polyester blended yarns, both carded and combed, as well as open-end yarns.
Approximately 40% of the yarn produced is then transferred to the company’s in-house weaving plant, where more than 400 tons of high-quality fabrics are manufactured each month.

Within such a complex and interconnected value chain, the transformation of raw material into yarn represents a critical stage, where process efficiency, quality, and reliability become decisive factors for the entire production chain.
In a fully integrated production environment such as that of Algodonera Avellaneda, process continuity and reliability are key factors. With this project, we provided technological solutions capable of supporting high production volumes while simultaneously enhancing quality, efficiency, and automation throughout the entire spinning value chain.

The solution

To support high production capacity and ensure consistent performance over time, Algodonera Avellaneda has long relied on our technology for blowroom machines, combers, transport systems, roving frames, and spinning machines. In particular, the company installed our solutions at two different stages.

In 2015, the company expanded the plant with the addition of a seventh spinning module, consisting of:
  • 1 FT6D roving frame with 192 spindles,
  • 5 MPTN ring spinning machines with 1,056 spindles each, featuring touchscreen settings,
  • an MTR bobbin transport system, complete with exchanger and Integrated Bobbin Cleaner (IBC).
This configuration enabled a high level of automation and more efficient management of production flows.

In 2017, Algodonera Avellaneda upgraded the blowroom line by installing the B380L cleaner, together with additional machines for the opening section.
The B380L is equipped with two beaters arranged in series, supported by four carding segments, followed by adjustable knives with flaps that allow progressive and highly effective opening and cleaning of the raw material, replacing traditional gripping systems.
The advantages of the solution

The results

Spinning section

The machines installed in the seventh spinning module achieved efficiency rates above 95%, operating at 16,500 rpm and processing over 4 tons per day of high-quality yarn with count Ne 26.

The adoption of the MTR bobbin transport system enabled full integration of the spinning section, ensuring:
  • continuous supply of bobbins;
  • reduced risk of product damage;
  • simplified internal logistics through automation.

Opening section

Thanks to the installation of the B380L cleaner, Algodonera Avellaneda is now able to perform gentle yet highly effective raw material treatment. This has resulted in:
  • reduced fiber loss;
  • improved opening and cleaning of the output material;
  • enhanced quality of the raw material fed to the carding process.

With this project, Algodonera Avellaneda has further strengthened the efficiency and reliability of its integrated value chain, turning Marzoli technology into a key driver for yarn quality and final fabric quality.
The excellent technological level of Marzoli machines, together with the reliability and expertise of its technicians, has enabled our company to achieve outstanding results.
