Cedro Textil

Cedro Textil industrial spinning mill

Production flexibility for fashion and workwear fabrics

Cedro Textil’s fashion division includes two main lines - denim and dyed fabrics - characterized by a wide variety of weights, textures, dyeing processes, and finishes. Alongside these, the workwear line includes technical fabrics for applications ranging from medical to metallurgical uses.

The complexity of this production mix required a spinning operation capable of responding quickly to product changes. We therefore provided technological solutions designed to ensure continuity, efficiency, and operational flexibility, even under variable production conditions.

The challenge

Cedro Textil’s production environment is characterized by a high variety of products, serving both the fashion sector and professional workwear. The company’s main challenge was managing high production variability - in terms of yarn counts, volumes, and applications - without slowing down production flows or compromising overall plant efficiency.

Continuous requests from downstream process stages required frequent changes in the type and quantity of yarn to be produced, making it essential to rely on a spinning operation capable of rapid adaptation while maintaining operational reliability, process control, and stable quality.
With Cedro Textil, we developed a spinning solution designed to manage high production variability while maintaining efficiency, reliability, and consistent yarn quality. A project that demonstrates how flexibility and productivity can coexist on an industrial scale.

The solution

Between the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014, Marzoli partnered with Cedro Textil to deliver a spinning solution designed to meet the needs of a production environment characterized by high variability and frequent product changes. The goal was to provide technology capable of ensuring operational flexibility, process continuity, and high productivity, while maintaining consistent yarn quality standards.

The project involved the installation of:
  • 4 FT7D roving frames with 144 spindles each
  • 12 MDS1 ring spinning machines;
for a total production capacity of 22 tons of yarn per day.

The FT7D roving frame proved to be particularly well suited to Cedro Textil’s requirements thanks to its ability to operate with different types of raw materials while consistently delivering high performance. Its innovative design ensures perfect bobbin formation, with electronically adjustable spindle speed and reduced mechanical vibrations. This results in greater process stability, lower energy consumption, and a better balance between productivity and efficiency.

The MDS1 ring spinning machine completes the solution by offering a high level of control and flexibility. Technological parameters can be set directly via touchscreen, and production recipes can be saved and recalled, reducing setup times and minimizing the risk of errors. The design of its components allows productivity to be increased without compromising yarn quality, effectively meeting the needs of a plant serving both fashion and professional workwear applications.

The advantages of the solution

The results

Thanks to the implemented spinning solution, Cedro Textil has further strengthened its role as a global leader in the textile industry, achieving outstanding production volumes without compromising final product quality. The company is now able to produce over 3,000 tons of yarn per month, efficiently feeding subsequent dyeing, printing, and weaving processes.

Overall production capacity enables Cedro Textil to manage up to 5 million meters per month of dyed fabric, approximately 700,000 meters per month of printed fabric, and more than 7.5 million meters per month of woven fabric, operating with 459 looms across its production units.

As confirmed by the company’s management, the collaboration with us made it possible to achieve the highest productivity levels while maintaining consistent quality standards - an essential balance to successfully serve both the fashion and professional workwear markets. In this context, operational flexibility and process efficiency have translated into a concrete and long-lasting competitive advantage.
Thanks to the Marzoli spinning line, we are able to produce 22 tons per day of high-quality yarn, consistently ensuring the highest standards of flexibility and quality.
