First World Cotton Day
Marzoli participates in the first World Cotton Day
Marzoli took part in the “Panel on key topics for promoting sustainability, competitiveness, and efficiency in the cotton-textile industry,” organized by UNIDO on the occasion of the launch of the first World Cotton Day.
The event brought together major industry players who, like Marzoli, play a significant role in developing innovative technologies for the sustainability of the textile sector. These included Hugo Boss, Filmar Group, the International Cotton Research Association (ICRA–ICAC), and Circle Economy.
The discussion focused on three strategic pillars for textile innovation:
- Development and use of smart, high-performance materials
- Advanced digital manufacturing, value chain, and business models
- Recycling, upcycling, and efficient use of resources
In particular, Marzoli emphasized the importance of advanced digital manufacturing, IIoT platforms, as well as the key role of training and education, combined with the implementation of new technologies and production processes to increase efficiency. Marzoli also presented the advantages of artificial intelligence and the impact of advanced analytics on cotton production and the textile industry.
